<br />A special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Elk River, Minnesota, <br />was called to order by Acting Mayor Hudson on June 9, 1969 in the Council Room of <br />the Municipal Building at 7:30 pm, members were present as follows: Councilmen <br />Hudson, Syring, McRae and Konop. <br /> <br /> <br />A letter of resignatio~ from Robert Reynolds as liquor store man~ger to be <br />effective June 30, 1969, was read. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman. Syring, seconded by Councilman McRae, to accept Robert Reynolds <br />resignation as liquor store manager to be effective June 30, 1969, this period to <br />include all accumulated vacation benefits. Motion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />Allen Balow, who was appointed as interim liquor store manager by the liquor <br />committee, was present and made the following suggestions: A physical inventory <br />be taken, otherwise he would notoe responsible for .any shortages, change the <br />sale combination and paye!lual wages to the onsale waitresses and the off sale <br />clerks. Agreeable to allow Balow to increase- the waitress wages to $2.00 per <br />hour but that the union contract still stands as is. The clerk was instructed to <br />arrange for the inventory. the bonding of the interi:Ql manager and the changing of <br />the safe combination. l Balow also requested that the morning hours be changed during <br />the sUllllIer months to the regular 8:00 am opening.::, Agreeable with the council. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Balow reported that there would be a changeover on July 1, 1969 of \<tlolesale liqu<I' <br />prices. He suggested that large orders of good sellers be placed to take advantage <br />of the present wholesale price. Agreeable with the council to allow expenditures <br />up to $15,000.00 for immediate liquor purchases. <br /> <br />After di.s cussion, Balows monthly salary as liquor sDore manager was set at $675.00. <br /> <br />No further business, the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />
