The regular semi-m::mthly:neeting of the Elk River Village Council w as called to order by Mayor Bartelt on Jan. 6, 1969, Hudson absent. The minutes of the Dec. 3 and Dec. 16, 1968 meetings were read. No additions or corrections. ---' It was reported that Reynolds salary had already been increased to $650.00 per month on April 1, 196e. Th~ following committee appointments for the Year 1969 were made: Liquor Committee: Syring, and Hudson Street Committee: Hudson and McRae Welfare Conmi ttee: Hudson and Konop Sewer Conmi ttee; Syring and J.1cRae Permits: McRae and Konop Park Board Co{lllIlittee: Syring and Konop; others named were Les Derr, Herb Greupner aM pro G. W. Meyer. A motion was ~ade by Syring and seconded by Konop, reappsinting Hudson,' as Acting Ma~"Or, John ~c Gibbon as Village Attorney, Harry Dreissig as Fire Ch ief and William Mills. as Village Engineer. A motion was made by Syring and seconded by Konop, reappointing Albert Bailey and Richard Gongoll to three year terms on the Elk River Planning Commission. Motion carried.. Discussion on.Local 152, Collective Bargaining Proposals for the on sale liquor store employees. Their proposal was submittE'd as follows: (1) A three-year contract providing across-the-board )~ge increases of twenty~five cents per hour for each of the next three years. (2) Three qays paid leave for death in the immediate family or for other emergencies. (3) AdditiQn of a waitress classification to the contract with the ~'age rate ,to be open for discussion. A I!lOtion was made by Syring and seconded by McRae, to submit a counter proposal as follows: (1) A thre~year contract for bartenders, providing across-tho-board wage increa~es of fifteen cents per hour for the first year and ten cents per hottr for each of the next two years. (2) Three d,ays paid leave for death in the i!IllIlediate family. (3) AdditiQn of a waitress . classification to the contract, providing across the boa,rd wage increases of ten cents per hour for each of the next three y,ears. (4) In cas~ of emergency only, it will be the employers privilege to use female help as bartenders, to be paid at the .bartenders wage scale. Motion carried. A motion was made by Konop and seconded by Syring, to grant incr(.'ases to the '--l offsale liquor store clerks of 10~ per hour, to be effective'Jan. 1, 1969. I Motion carried.
