<br />The regular semi-m::mthly:neeting of the Elk River Village Council w as called <br />to order by Mayor Bartelt on Jan. 6, 1969, Hudson absent. <br /> <br />The minutes of the Dec. 3 and Dec. 16, 1968 meetings were read. No additions <br />or corrections. <br /> <br />---' <br /> <br />It was reported that Reynolds salary had already been increased to $650.00 per <br />month on April 1, 196e. <br /> <br /> <br />Th~ following committee appointments for the Year 1969 were made: <br />Liquor Committee: Syring, and Hudson <br />Street Committee: Hudson and McRae <br />Welfare Conmi ttee: Hudson and Konop <br />Sewer Conmi ttee; Syring and J.1cRae <br />Permits: McRae and Konop <br />Park Board Co{lllIlittee: Syring and Konop; others named were Les Derr, Herb <br />Greupner aM pro G. W. Meyer. <br /> <br />A motion was ~ade by Syring and seconded by Konop, reappsinting Hudson,' as Acting <br />Ma~"Or, John ~c Gibbon as Village Attorney, Harry Dreissig as Fire Ch ief and <br />William Mills. as Village Engineer. Motion carried. <br /> <br />'---' <br />, , <br /> <br />. <br />A motion was made by Syring and seconded by Konop, reappointing Albert Bailey <br />and Richard Gongoll to three year terms on the Elk River Planning Commission. <br />Motion carried.. <br /> <br />Discussion on.Local 152, Collective Bargaining Proposals for the on sale liquor <br />store employees. Their proposal was submittE'd as follows: <br />(1) A three-year contract providing across-the-board )~ge increases of <br />twenty~five cents per hour for each of the next three years. <br />(2) Three qays paid leave for death in the immediate family or for other <br />emergencies. <br />(3) AdditiQn of a waitress classification to the contract with the ~'age <br />rate ,to be open for discussion. <br /> <br />A I!lOtion was made by Syring and seconded by McRae, to submit a counter proposal <br />as follows: <br />(1) A thre~year contract for bartenders, providing across-tho-board wage <br />increa~es of fifteen cents per hour for the first year and ten cents <br />per hottr for each of the next two years. <br />(2) Three d,ays paid leave for death in the i!IllIlediate family. <br />(3) AdditiQn of a waitress . classification to the contract, providing across <br />the boa,rd wage increases of ten cents per hour for each of the next <br />three y,ears. <br />(4) In cas~ of emergency only, it will be the employers privilege to use <br />female help as bartenders, to be paid at the .bartenders wage scale. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Konop and seconded by Syring, to grant incr(.'ases to the <br />'--l offsale liquor store clerks of 10~ per hour, to be effective'Jan. 1, 1969. <br />I Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Konop and seconded by Syring, to increase Reynolds 3a1ary <br />to $075.00 per month, to be effective Jan. 1, 1969. ~fution carried. <br />
