Commissioner Al Nadeau
and I were both in attendance.
The Board was updated on the status of repairs to Faribault Energy Park from a tornado
that hit the plant on September 20.
The Board discussed the status of several renewable projects that the Agency is pursuing.
An expanded rollout of the high school component of MMPA's Energy Education
program is underway. This offering is a companion to the fourth grade FEP Tour Event
and Energy Assembly programs in which more than 15,000 students have participated
since the program's inception.
On October 25, 1 participated in an American Public Power Association (APPA) Reliable
Public Power Provider (RP3) application grading session as the Reliability
Representative on their 18 member panel. During this grading session, I changed roles
and reviewed the system improvements section of the application. It was a great
experience.
The Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) Government Relations
Committee has begun meeting again in preparation for the upcoming session. I am
currently the chair of the committee.
Staff is working on evaluating the Utilities Performance Metric Incentive Compensation
(UPMIC) policy criteria for the score card. During 2018, staff has been evaluating
customer service satisfaction measurement tools and rate evaluation tools. At this time, it
is unlikely that a recommendation to change any of the measurement criteria for the 2019
measurement period. The UPMIC score card will be presented in December for adoption
for the 2019 measurement period.
Page I of I
92
