<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 6, 1965 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order on Dec 6, 1965 by Mayor <br />Johnson. All members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Paul Siegler, representing the Planning Commission, met with the Council. He suggests a planning <br />program for the village and that a firm could be engaged to put on a plan that the village needs. <br />There were some discussion and further action will be taken up at a later date. <br /> <br />Al Balow, manager of the Liquor Store, was present. He said he planned to resign on Feb 1, 1966. <br />He asked the council to decide on someone to take his place. Upon motion by Bartelt and second by <br />Hudson Wm Patenaude was appointed on L&Power Commission. <br /> <br />Mrs. Rodeck and Mrs. Curtis Bock were present and left an estimate for a new floor for the library. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Norris and seconded by Bartelt to authorize clerk and mayor to sign street <br />contract with county with changes noted. Carried. <br /> <br />The council appointed Mrs. Robert Dar and Mr. Norman Schomber on the library board. Motion by <br />Norris second Hudson. <br /> <br />Neal Larson and Father McKewin met with the council. Also Wm Mills engineer. There has been <br />some misunderstanding about the elevation of Angel Street next to the Senior Apartments. The <br />matter will have to be settled between engineer and architect. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Norris and seconded by Hudson to accept dedication of street at Elk River <br />Nursing Home. See description on legal paper. <br /> <br />Trustee Bartelt introduced the Resolution No. 73 renew/removal and moved it’s adoption. It was <br />seconded by Hudson and passed all voting in favor. <br /> <br />A resignation as village assessor was received from Stuart Mapson. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Bartelt to issue a special use permit to Senior <br />Citizen apartments. Carried. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Norris and second by Briggs $10,000.00 was transferred from the Liquor Fund to <br />the General Fund. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid: <br />Linda Swen – asst 34.50 <br />Emil Hoffman – hay 44.00 <br />Elk River Utilities – L&P 155.88 <br />LeRoy Pike – labor 270.78 <br />Elk River Utilities – 311.35 <br /> <br />
