<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />November 1, 1965 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Elk River Council was called to order by Mayor Johnson on Nov 1, <br />1965. All members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Rodney Anderson was present. He asked that some repairs be made on the curb at his property. <br /> <br />George Moos and Ernest Nelson attended the meeting. They complained about the police service <br />and asked for a raise in salary. Nothing was done at this meeting. <br /> <br />Building permits were issued: George Dietz – residence, Henry Vordenbruggen – garage. <br /> <br />Levy for coming year: <br />General Fund – 30 mills <br />Utility Fund – 5 mills <br />Poor Fund – 4 mills <br />Library Fund – 5 mills <br />Music Fund - .6 mills <br />Firemens Pension - .1 mills <br />PERA 2 ½% extra charge $254.60 <br />Maximum on sewer bonds <br /> <br />Motion for levy was made by Norris and seconded by Hudson and carried. All voting in favor. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Briggs to have three judges on the election board <br />th <br />at the village election Dec 6. Carried. <br /> <br />The clerk was asked to place an ad in the local paper and in the Construction Bulletin asking for <br />application for police officer. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved: <br />Art Barnier – labor 121.81 <br />Anoka Co-op – Elec 16.10 <br />Target Store – clothes 65.00 <br />Standard Oil – gas, oil 98.33 <br />Art Barnier – labor 120.40 <br />Fire Department – fires 66.00 <br />Miller-Davis Co – 12.97 <br />N.P.
