<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 4, 1965 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on Jan 4, 1965. All <br />members were present except Bartelt. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Johnson. The <br />minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Results of the December election: <br />Clerk – H.A. Briggs <br />Trustee – Thomas Hudson, who signed oath <br />Constable – Oliver Micheau <br />Justice of the Peace – Morris Wilson <br /> <br />The council appointed Duane Hudson as member of the Library Board also Werner Banke was re- <br />appointed on the Power and Light Commission. <br /> <br />Emil Hoffman was present. He asked about getting sewer and water for his property on East Main <br />Street. There was some discussion. The matter will be taken up later. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Norris and seconded by Hudson to advertise for a hearing on Feb 1 <br />regarding hearing on rezoning of Lamm property near east Main Street. Carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Norris to accept dedication of street by L.G. Lamm. <br />Carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Norris to give Frances Riese a special permit to <br />operate a beauty parlor in her home at 1018 Main Street. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Council decided to ask John MacGibbon prepare an ordinance regarding open parking on <br />streets in summer and winter. <br /> <br />The mayor made appointments of standing committees.
