f <br /> Elk River . <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Mike Tietz—Technical Services Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> August 14, 2018 6.1d <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • In July, the locating department had a total of 544 locate tickets consisting of two <br /> emergency tickets, 17 cancellations, 8 meetings, 446 normal tickets and 65 updated <br /> tickets. This is a 12% decrease in volume of tickets from the previous month. <br /> • Electric Technicians continue with updating the power bill, substation checks, <br /> disconnects, reconnects, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as installing new <br /> meters for commercial customers. Staff has been providing load profile data for the city <br /> to compare usage with Iserlohn, Germany. Staff has completed the task of updating <br /> demand meters to the appropriate reset date for all of the cycles. Staff has also been <br /> working on programming equipment in preparation for the transfer of Areas 5 & 6. <br /> • The weekly meter reads continue to go well. Meter audits of the system have been nearly <br /> completed for the initial assessment. Staff has started revisiting accounts that were <br /> notified of not being in compliance with our standards to follow-up on their progress. <br /> • On July 26 staff ran Engines 1, 2 & 3. Engine#4 has not been repaired yet. Another <br /> vendor has been contacted about the replacement locknuts due to no response from the <br /> previous vendor we were working with. <br /> • Mapping department continues to enter GPS points and attribute points for all of our <br /> systems assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. The ArcGIS Server has been <br /> configured and is up and running. Our GIS/Mapping Technician was very appreciative <br /> for the opportunity to attend the ESRI User Conference the week of July 9th. Attached is <br /> the report from the conference. Also, Staff recently completed the integration of the water <br /> mapping database with the new mapping server. This allows for us to easily GPS water <br /> items with our recent purchase of GPS equipment.
