ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> AY 322 King Avenue <br /> Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br /> Phone (612) 441-2020 <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> November 17, 1992 <br /> 3 : 00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: George Zabee President <br /> James Tralle Vice Chairman <br /> James Simpson Trustee <br /> Others present: Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Glenn Sundeen <br /> Eleanor Todahl <br /> Terry Maurer <br /> Pat Klaers <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 3 : 00 P.M. by President Zabee. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr. Simpson seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the <br /> agenda. The motion carried. <br /> 3) President Zabee explained that he had received many contacts from <br /> concerned citizens in the Westwood area regarding the new Water <br /> Access Charge which was approved at the October meeting. The <br /> concern was that these citizens were told by the City Council that <br /> the charges had been frozen for a period of four years. He <br /> reported that he had researched the minutes and transcripts of the <br /> tape recordings and found that no such promise had been made, <br /> however he could understand that there might have been a <br /> perception among those attending these meetings that this might <br /> have been construed. Mr. Simpson reported that his research had <br /> found the same thing. Mr. Tralle reported that his recollection <br /> of the meetings were that no promise had been made to freeze the <br /> connection fees for a period of four years. However, Mr. Tralle <br /> said that he could see where some confusion may have come from <br /> some of the action taken. <br /> Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. Simpson, that the Water <br /> Connection Fee for the Citizens of the Westwood assessed for the <br /> water and sewer project completed in 1992 be frozen at $300. 00 <br /> until October 1, 1996 . The motion carried unanimously. <br /> 4) Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle to adjourn. The <br /> motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 4 : 00 P.M. <br /> Bill Birrenkott <br /> General Manager <br />
