--C./ <br /> / ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> AY 322 King Avenue <br /> Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br /> Phone (612) 441-2020 <br /> • <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> August 11, 1992 <br /> 4 : 00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: George Zabee President <br /> James Tralle Vice Chairman <br /> James Simpson Trustee <br /> Others present: Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Glenn Sundeen <br /> Pat Klaers City Administrator <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 4 : 00 P.M. by President Zabee. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr. Simpson seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the <br /> agenda. The motion carried. <br /> 3) Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. Simpson to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as distributed. The motion <br /> carried with Mr. Tralle abstaining. <br /> 4) The General Manager presented the Commissioners with a memo <br /> regarding a customer who had been shut off for non-payment. The <br /> Commissioners decided to take no action. <br /> 5) The Commission was presented with a list of the recommended <br /> locations for street lights to be added this fiscal year. The list <br /> was compiled by the Lighting Committee, with Tom Zerwas serving as <br /> Chairman. Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle to <br /> participate in 50% of the cost of the addition of two additional <br /> street lights to be installed in the Westwood subdivision. The <br /> motion carried. <br /> 6) Pat Klaers, the City Administrator, informed the Commissioners the <br /> City Council had agreed to fund another light at the entrance to <br /> the Ridgewood Subdivision. This information required no action on <br /> the part of the Commission. <br /> 7) The funding of future water towers was discussed with the City <br /> Administrator. Many options were considered and the Commissioners <br /> agreed to study the options and consider possible solutions at <br /> future meetings. <br /> 8) Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle, to donate the <br /> electricity for the softball field lighting and concessions for a <br /> period of five years starting now. The motion carried. <br /> 9) The General Manager presented the Commissioners with a proposal <br /> for a new government rate available to Municipalities. Motion by <br /> Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle, to install this rate <br /> effective immediately and to become a part of the minutes. The <br /> motion carried. <br />
