ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> 322 King Avenue <br /> Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br /> Phone (612) 441-2020 <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> November 12 , 1991 <br /> 4 : 00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: Jim Simpson President <br /> James Tralle Vice Chairman <br /> George Zabee Trustee <br /> Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Others Present: Glenn Sundeen <br /> Bob McCartney <br /> Duane Kropuenske <br /> Roger Holmgren <br /> Pat Klaers <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 4 : 00 P.M. by President Simpson. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr. Zabee seconded by Mr. Simpson to approve the agenda. <br /> The motion carried. <br /> 3) Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Simpson to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as distributed. The motion <br /> carried. <br /> 4) Pat Klaers and Duane Kropuenske, representing the City of Elk <br /> Rivers presented the Commission with a proposal for the Utilities <br /> to participate in the purchase of the remaining lots in the <br /> Industrial Park. It was requested that the Utilities participate <br /> in the amount of $55, 000. Mr. Zabee indicated his concern that <br /> this will not put the financial position of the Utilities in cash <br /> jeopardy in light of the construction of a new substation and the <br /> acquisition of territory from Anoka Electric Cooperative. The <br /> General Manager indicated that, at this time, not enough was known <br /> about the acquisition costs, however, it was anticipated that this <br /> would not cause a problem. <br /> Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Tralle, to loan $55, 000 at no <br /> interest towards the purchase of property in the Industrial Park <br /> to be purchased by the City of Elk River from Elk River Associated <br /> Investors Inc. This motion is contingent on the agreement that <br /> future proceeds from the sale of this property will be repaid to <br /> the Utilities on a pro-rated basis to the Elk River Municipal <br /> Utilities, City Capital Projects Fund, and the City Equipment <br /> Reserves Fund. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> 5) Bob McCartney reported on the status of projects in the Water <br /> Department. <br />
