/ ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> 322 King Avenue <br /> Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br /> Phone (612) 441-2020 <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> June 10, 1991 <br /> Monday 4 : 00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: Jim Simpson President <br /> George Zabee Trustee <br /> Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Absent Was: James Tralle Vice Chairman <br /> Others Present: Glenn Sundeen <br /> Robert McCartney <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 4: 00 P.M. by President <br /> Simpson. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr . Zabee, seconded by Mr . Simpson to approve the <br /> agenda. The motion carried. <br /> 3) Motion by Mr . Zabee, seconded by Mr . Simpson to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as distributed. The motion <br /> carried . <br /> 4) Motion by Mr . Zabee, seconded by Mr . Simpson to authorize <br /> the Construction Reserve fund to be increased to $1,000,000 <br /> with monthly deposits of $5 , 000 minimum. The motion <br /> carried. <br /> 5) A discussion was held regarding the refurbishing of the <br /> bucket truck which was budgeted for 1991. Motion by Mr . <br /> Zabee, seconded by Mr . Simpson to authorize the staff to <br /> proceed with the preparation of specifications and <br /> advertising for bids to replace this equipment, with the <br /> money to be included in the 1992 budget. The motion <br /> carried . <br /> 6) Robert McCartney, Water Superintendent, presented the <br /> Commissioners with a proposal regarding the assessments for <br /> the Proctor Avenue rebuild. Staff was instructed to prepare <br /> more information and present it to the Commissioners at the <br /> next meeting. <br /> 7) The Line Superintendent reported on the status of <br /> construction projects and other operating conditions . <br /> 8) The General Manager reviewed the May financial reports <br /> with the Commissioners . <br /> 9) The General Manager was instructed to obtain the cost of <br /> having a History of Elk River Utilities prepared. <br /> 10) The General Manager reviewed the R.W. Beck coordination <br /> study with the Commissioners . <br />
