COMMISSION MEETING <br /> November 14, 1989 <br /> Tuesday 7: 00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: James Tralle President <br /> George Zabee Vice Chairman <br /> Jim Simpson Trustee <br /> Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Others Present: Glenn Sundeen Pat Dietrich <br /> Vivian Schmidt Roger Heuer (NSP) <br /> Keith Shodeen <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 7 : 00 P.M. by President Tralle. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as presented and distributed . <br /> The motion carried. <br /> 3) Roger Heuer from NSP was presented to respond to questions <br /> regarding the Utilities disposal of transformers and <br /> environmental pratices. He stated that the Utilities is in <br /> complete compliance in all practices regarding testing, storing, <br /> and disposal of all equipment according to EPA regulations. <br /> 4) Customer Keith Shodeen formally requested of the utilities <br /> compensation for damages done when his electricity was shut off <br /> for non-payment last summer. After a lengthy discussion, the <br /> Commission decided to take no action. <br /> 5) The General Manager reported on investigation of Home Security <br /> systems to offer as a service to our customers . The <br /> Commissioners directed the General Manager to proceed and report <br /> on a business plan at a future meeting. <br /> 6) The financial reports and budgets were reviewed with the <br /> Commissioners . <br /> 7) Line Superintendent, Glenn Sundeen reported on the status of <br /> construction projects and operating conditions . <br /> 8) The Compensation Committee was directed to give a report at the <br /> next meeting. <br /> 9) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to begin January 1, <br /> P <br /> 1990 to donate all electricity not associated with enterprise <br /> funds to the City of Elk River . This would include: the garage <br /> on UPA Drive, a pole building on UPA Drive, the new City garage, <br /> City Hall , and the Fire Station. Motion carried . <br /> 10) The next meeting was set for 7 : 00 P.M. December 7, 1989 at the <br /> Utilities office. <br /> 11) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to adjourn. Motion <br /> carried. Meeting adjourned at 10 : 30 P.M. <br /> Bill Birrenkott <br /> General Manager <br />
