COMMISSION MEETING <br /> October 3 , 1989 <br /> Tuesday 7 :00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: James Tralle President <br /> George Zabee Vice Chairman <br /> Jim Simpson Trustee <br /> Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Others Present: Glenn Sundeen <br /> Bob McCartney <br /> Steve Rohlf <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 7 : 00 P.M. by President Tralle. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as presented and distributed . <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 3) Steve Rohlf, City Building and Zoning Administrator, expressed <br /> his concern over the practices of the Utilities in storing <br /> potentially contaminated transformers . <br /> Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr . Simpson, to have Roger Heuer <br /> of NSP attend our next meeting and to explore the possibility of <br /> a fire retardant wall around our storage tank at the shop. <br /> Motion carried . <br /> 4) The General Manager updated the Commission on the status of <br /> negotiations with Anoka Electric. <br /> 5) The Line Superintendent updated the Commission on the status of <br /> construction projects and operating conditions . <br /> 6) The Environmental Compliance Officer informed the Commission that <br /> the Utilities presently do not have any transformers on site with <br /> possible contamination. There are two transformers in <br /> "compliance storage" awaiting test results. The Utilities has <br /> expended approximately $10,000 thus far to get to this stage of <br /> "complete compliance" with EPA regulations . <br /> 7) The proposed equipment budget was reviewed and discussed with the <br /> Commissioners . <br /> 8) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to send a letter to <br /> Ed Clinkscales informing him of our decision regarding the <br /> drainage problem and earthwork in the power plant area . Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 9) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to appoint a <br /> compensation Committee to report at future meetings. Motion <br /> carried . <br /> President Tralle appointed Mr . Simpson, Mr . Zabee and the General <br /> Manager, to the compensation committee. <br /> 10) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Zabee to adjourn. Motion <br /> carried. Meeting adjourned at 10 :10 P.M. <br /> Bill Birrenkott <br /> General Manager <br />
