COMMISSION MEETING <br /> August 8, 1989 <br /> Tuesday 7: 00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: James Tralle President <br /> George Zabee Vice Chairman <br /> Jim Simpson Trustee <br /> Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Others Present: Glenn Sundeen <br /> Bob McCartney <br /> Terry Maurer <br /> Cliff Donais <br /> Wayne Eull <br /> Kevin Spurgin <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 7: 00 P.M. by President Tralle. <br /> 2) Various proposals and solutions to the Lookout Place water <br /> distribution were discussed with the owners present. Motion by <br /> Mr . Zabee, seconded by Mr . Simpson, to recommend to the City <br /> Council that a 2" water main be installed in the area where the <br /> sidewalk presently is . Motion carried . <br /> 3) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as presented and distributed. <br /> Motion carried with Mr. Zabee abstaining. <br /> 4) Staff reported that work is proceeding on the James Addition in <br /> Otsego. This is a development of Jim Peterson of Elk River . <br /> 5) The General Manager reported that we have been contacted by <br /> residents of the River Bend trailer park in Otsego to serve <br /> electricity to the park. They have been instructed by our staff <br /> to contact the Public Service Commission. <br /> 6) The General Manager reported that Elk River Municipal Utilities <br /> and Anoka Electric Cooperative have agreed on a line for <br /> territorial boundary. The next step will be to begin <br /> negotiations on the actual cost of the various parcels and the <br /> timing as to when the actual territories would be acquired . The <br /> utilities will proceed with the process of helping Anoka Electric <br /> acquire a franchise in the territory in their assigned area. <br /> 7) The General Manager reported that the storage building at the <br /> plant will cost much more than the commission approved because of <br /> site relocation and building requirements imposed by the planning <br /> commission. It was the consensus of the Utilities Commission to <br /> recommend to the City that the issue be tabled until more study <br /> is done with other alternatives to be considered . <br /> 8) The General Manager reviewed the July financial statements and <br /> budget reports with the Commission. <br /> 9) The Line Superintendent updated the Commission on the status of <br /> major construction projects . <br />
