COMMISSION MEETING <br /> July 11, 1989 <br /> Tuesday 7:00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: James Tralle President <br /> Jim Simpson Trustee <br /> Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Others Present: Glenn Sundeen <br /> Bob McCartney <br /> Absent Was: George Zabee <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 7 : 00 P.M. by President Tralle. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as presented and distributed. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 3) The complexity of the newer environmental laws were discussed and <br /> concern was expressed that we may not be in compliance in several <br /> areas. Motion by Mr. Simpson, seconded by Mr . Tralle to create <br /> the position of Environmental Compliance Officer and Water <br /> Superintendent at a starting salary of $35,000 per annum, <br /> effective July 8, 1989, - to be filled by Robert McCartney. The <br /> salary would be increased to $36,050 per annum effective <br /> January 1, 1990 . The position of Water Foreman would be <br /> eliminated. Motion carried. <br /> 4) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle to authorize the <br /> expenditure of $1100 for partitions in the office. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 5) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle to authorize the <br /> expenditure of $37,000 for the construction of a building to <br /> store transformers and other material and equipment. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 6) Two estimates were presented to solve the water distribution <br /> problems at Lookout Place. The General Manager was directed to <br /> notify the affected landowners regarding these proposals and <br /> invite them to our next meeting. <br /> 7) Motion by Mr . Tralle, seconded by Mr. Simpson to proceed with the <br /> installation of lighting at the new water tower at utility <br /> expense. Motion carried. <br /> 8) The General Manager updated the Commissioners on the status of <br /> negotiations with Anoka Electric Cooperative. <br /> 9) The Commissioners reviewed and discussed the June financial <br /> statements with the staff . <br /> 10) The Line Superintendent updated the Commission on the status of <br /> construction projects . <br />
