COMMISSION MEETING <br /> April 18 , 1989 <br /> Tuesday 7 :00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: James Tralle President <br /> Jim Simpson Trustee <br /> Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Others Present: Glenn Sundeen - Line Superintendent <br /> Pat Klaers - City Administrator <br /> Terry Maurer <br /> Wade Lovelette <br /> Mark Fuchs <br /> Absent Was: George Zabee <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 7 : 00 P.M. by President Tralle. <br /> 2) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as presented and distributed. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 3) Terry Maurer and Pat Klaers presented to the Commission the plans <br /> for the western expansion of sewer and water. They stated that <br /> the only request for funding of the Utilities Commission would be <br /> in the area of future wells and treatment facilities. If the <br /> Commission agrees to fund the wells and treatment facilities, the <br /> City would deduct these costs from the estimated cost of the <br /> entire project . <br /> Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Tralle, to authorize the <br /> future expenditure for water wells and treatment facilities <br /> associated with the western expansion of water. Motion carried. <br /> 4) The general Manager reported on the status of negotiations with <br /> Anoka Electric Cooperative to acquire additional service <br /> territory. <br /> 5) Motion by Mr . Simpson, seconded by Mr . Tralle, to authorize the <br /> purchase of work stations for the office not to exceed $10,000 . <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 6) Representatives of the outside workers appeared at this time to <br /> present their proposals for a wage and benefit increase for 1989 . <br /> The discussion will be continued at the next meeting. <br /> 7 ) The General Manager reviewed the March financial statements with <br /> the Commission. <br /> 8) The Line Superintendent reviewed the status of all construction <br /> projects with the Commissioners . <br /> 9) It was reported that there is a leaking water service that the <br /> owner has not repaired for some time. The Commission directed <br /> the staff to inform the owner that if the service is not repaired <br /> in one week that the water will be turned off . <br />
