ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES <br /> ve 322 King Avenue <br /> Elk River, Minnesota 55330 <br /> Phone (612) 441-2020 <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> July 12, 1994 <br /> 3 :00 P.M. <br /> Present Were: James Simpson President <br /> George Zabee Vice Chairman <br /> James Tralle Trustee <br /> Others Present: Bill Birrenkott General Manager <br /> Glenn Sundeen Line Superintendent <br /> Bob McCartney Water Superintendent <br /> Terry Maurer City Engineer <br /> 1) The meeting was called to order at 3 :00 P.M. by President <br /> Simpson. <br /> 2 ) Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the <br /> agenda as amended. The Motion carried. <br /> 3) Motion by Mr. Zabee, seconded by Mr. Tralle to approve the <br /> minutes of the previous meeting as distributed. The motion <br /> carried. <br /> 4 ) Terry Maurer, City Engineer, noted that the well in the <br /> Hillside Addition is progressing normally and he asked the <br /> Commission for authorization to proceed with the design of the <br /> treatment facilities. Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. <br /> Zabee to authorize MSA to proceed with the design and prepare <br /> bids for the water treatment facility in the Hillside area. <br /> The motion carried. <br /> 5) Terry also reported that their preliminary models indicated <br /> that if we proceed with the installation of the Gary Street <br /> Water Tower at 1 .5 Million Gallons (instead of the planned 1.0 <br /> million gallons) that we will not have to place a water tower <br /> east when that extension is accomplished. Motion by Mr. <br /> Tralle, seconded by Mr. Zabee to authorize MSA to proceed with <br /> the design of a 1.5 million gallon water tower for Gary Street. <br /> The Motion carried. <br /> 6) The Line Superintendent updated the Commissioners on the status <br /> of construction projects and other operating conditions. <br /> 7 ) The General Manager reviewed the June financial statements with <br /> the Commissioners. <br /> 8 ) Motion by Mr. Tralle, seconded by Mr. Zabee, to approve the <br /> check register. <br />
