,
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES
COMMISSION
HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL
MONDAY, JANUARY 22, 1996
Members Present: Chair James Tralle; Vice Chair, John Dietz; and Trustee George
Zabee
Members Absent: None
Also Present: Pat Klaers, City Administrator; Lori Johnson, Assistant City
Administrator
1. Call Meeting To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the special meeting of the Elk River
Municipal Utilities Commission was called to order at 4:10 p.m. by Chair Tralle.
2. Comparable Worth Update
Assistant City Administrator Lori Johnson provided the Utilities Commission with a
handout and updated the Commission on the status of the Comparable Worth
Compliance Report. She stated that the Department of Employee Relations is
requesting minutes and other proof that the information sent to DOER reflects the
correct 1996 wages, job classificatoins and point rankings as previously approved
by the Commission. In an effort to clarify this issue for DOER, Lori reviewed the
Compliance Report, the point rankings of the Utilities positions, and the minimum
and maximum pay for each positions. She explained that the three clerical
employees had been reported in two classes since two of the employees had the
same duties and the third employee had different duties and requested
confirmation that this was correct. The Commissioners stated that this is accurate
since two employees perform the same functions. The Commissioners further
agreed that the information pay and point ranking information presented was
correct as approved for 1996.
COMMISSIONER ZABEE MOVED TO ACCEPT THE PAY RANGES, POINT RANKINGS
AND CLASSIFICATIONS AS PRESENTED AND PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED AND TO ACCEPT
THE COMPLIANCE REPORT AS PRESENTED. COMMISSIONER DIETZ SECONDED THE
MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0.
3.
