<br />o <br /> <br />REGULAR SEHI-lviONTHLY HEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br />October 18, 1976 at 7:30 PM. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Lundberg, Councilmembers Konop, Hudson, Syring & Otto. <br /> <br />The minutes of the October 4, 1976 meeting were reviewed as there were no additions or <br />corrections the minutes were approved as printed. <br /> <br />The Council reviewed the letter from Famers Home Administration regarding funding <br />for our proposed interceptor, The City is not eligible for funding because the <br />medium income for our area is too high. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Syring and seconded by Councilmember Otto approving the annual <br />maintenance agreement with the County at $1 ~ 500.00. Motion unaminously carried by a <br />vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember otto and seconded by Councilmember Syring approving the advance <br />expenditure up to $500.00 from the street department 1977 budget to purchase a cab for <br />the tractor. Hotion unaminously carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />The Council reviewed the 1977 budget. A copy of the finalized budget is attached. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Syring and seconded by Councilmember Otto approving the 1977 <br />budget at $116,000.00 local government levy for a total budget for the city at $360,451.00. <br />Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />~..................... Jan Marsh, Librari.an and Rev. Dick Scheerer representives of the Library met with the <br />.. Council regarding the janitor service cost for 1977 budget. Rev. Scheerer stated that <br />...~ the actual cost per hour for the service is $3.00 per hour. He also said that the <br />/' librarians do not have the time to do their own janitorial work. He felt that the yearly <br />cost for the service was low and that inorder to keep the library looking as new as the <br />day it was built was very important since it is a public building paid for by the public. <br /> <br />t) <br /> <br />Bill Patenaude, Superintendent Butch Elliott, Commissioner and Art Erickson Commissioner <br />of the Municipal Utilities met with the Council regarding utility services for Ridgewood <br />East addition. The Council suggested that the Commission meet \vith Anoka Electric <br />Coop regarding the utility services for this area. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Konop calling for the 1976 <br />Street Improvement assessment rolls to be prepared by McCombs-Knutson & Associates. <br />Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Konop approving the paying <br />of the Liquor Store bills for payment as listed.
