<br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />REGULAR SEMI-MONTHLY MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE cm OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br />August 2, 1976 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Members present: Mayor Lundberg, Councilmembers Hudson and Syring. <br /> <br />The minutes of the July 19, 1976 regular meeting were reviewed as there were no additions <br />or corrections the minutes were approved as printed. The Special minutes of the July <br />26, 1976 meeting were reviewed as there were no additions or corrections the minutes were <br />approved as printed. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Konop approving and granting <br />the issuance of a one day non-intoxicating liquor licence to the Elk River JC's for <br />August 15, 1976 from 12:01 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. at a fee of $10.00. Motion unanimously <br />carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Konop and seconded by Councilmember Hudson approving the expenditure <br />of $203.70 to the Sherburne County Fair Board for expenses of the bands that participated <br />at the fair to be with drawn from the music fund. Motion unanimously carried by a vote <br />of 3-0. <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Thomas met with the Council regarding two tickets that he has received from <br />our Police Dept. one for unlawful assembly and the other for vagrancy. The Council <br />stated that they would investegate this matter and get back to Mr. Thomas by Tuesday or <br />Wednesday at the latest. <br /> <br />8:05 PM. Mayor Lundberg declared the Public Hearing for the relocation, improvement or <br />vacation of the alley in Block 1, North Park Addition. <br /> <br />Mayor Lundberg called a raise of hands of those 12 residents in attendance that were <br />for vacating the alley the count resulted in 11 t01. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Syring to vacate the alley <br />in Block 1, North Park Addition which is bounded by School Street, Jackson Ave. ,8th <br />Street and Irving Ave. but retain all utility easements. Motion unanimously carried by <br />a vote of 3-0. A copy of the map is attached. <br /> <br />The Olerk was also instructed to recDrd the vacating of the alley with the County Auditor <br />and Register of Deeds. <br /> <br />Mr. Clarence Cook of 429 Line Ave. met with the Council regarding the zequest by the City <br />for a roadway easement for the proposed new road from Hwy. 169 to County Rd. 13 from Mr. <br />Cook .460 s1{. ft. will be needed. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Konop to waver the city sewer <br />and water hook-up fees for Mr. Cook, 429 Line Ave. subject to receipt and execution of <br />the required roadway easement. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />Lyle Swanson, City Engineer, reviewed for the Council some of the requirements needed for <br />our loan application for FHA for the sewer interseptor. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Syring and seconded by Councilmember Hudson accepting and approving <br />the contract amendment No. 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant with McCombs-Knutson Associates, <br />Inc. and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign the contract. Motion unanimously <br />carried by a vote of 3-0. A copy of the contract is attached. <br /> <br />Nocturther business the meeting adjO\U'tled at 8'56 PM. ~ <br />
