<br />REGULAR SEMI-MONTHLY MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL or ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br /> <br />O " <br />January'se, 1975 at 7:30 PM. <br /> <br />The Regular Semi-Monthly meeting of the Elk River City Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Lundberg on January 6, 1975 at 7:30 PM.in the Council Chambers of the City Office Bldg. <br />Members present were as follows: Mayor Lundberg, Councilmembers Burke, SYring, Hudson and <br />Konop. <br /> <br />First order of business was the signing of the Oath of office for the newly elected <br />councilmembers Bob Syring and Bill Konop. <br /> <br />The minutes of the December 16, 1974 were reviewed the following corrections were made <br />the date was changed from January 6, 1975 to December 16, 1974 fifth paragraph the work <br />penalty was inserted between date and clause. Eleventh paragraph add to end of motion <br />adjacent to Hwy #10 and Upland Ave. and on the sixteenth paragraph to include that <br />the department heads are as follows: Joe Zerwas, Chief of Police, Ken Nelson, Street <br />Superintendent, and Ernie Thielke, Liquor Store manager. As there were no further correction: <br />the minutes were approved as corrected. <br /> <br />The Council reviewed the Traffic Ordinance with Joe Zerwas and Ken Nelson it was decided <br />to include our Snowbird ordinance with this ordinance. <br /> <br />The Council authorized Joe Zerwas to check around for a vehicle for the dog catcher. <br /> <br />Lyle Swanson and Greg Frank of McCombs-Knutson submitted planning report for Wastewater <br />Treatment Facilities dated Dec. 1974 prepared by McCombs-Knutson Associates, Inc. for <br />O Councils review. <br /> <br />... \ Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Syring calling for a public <br />hearing for Jan 20, 1975 at 8:00 PM. and authorize the Clerk to advertise in the Sherburne <br />County Star News. Motion uanimously carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Council reviewed the letter from McCombs-Knutson regarding the rebate due on the parking <br />lot assessment on Barney's Cafe and the Carousel Gife Shop. The Council agreed that <br />the check should be sent to Frank Brown to credit his assessment. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Hudson and seconded by Councilmember Burke to accept the Iron removal <br />backwash report and authorize Lyle Swanson to get bid quotes on the project and to be paid <br />out of Utility funds. Motion unanimoulsy carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Syring and seconded by Councilmember Hudson approving the blanket <br />contract with UPA for police patrolling for the year 1975 at $150.00 per month. Motion <br />unanimously carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Burke and seconded by Councilmember Syring approving the renewal of <br />the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Minnesota Group Health Ins. and authorize the Clerk to <br />s~gn the contract renewal. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Syring and seconded by Councilmember Burke to increase the firemens <br />hourly rate from $4.00 to 5.00 per hour. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />".... The Council requested the Bldg. Inspector have the Fire Chief review all plans on Public <br />.., building before making "IW final approval. <br />
