I apologize for the delay in responding to your
letter. As you are probably aware, funding for highway projects is in short supply
and competition for those limited dollars is fierce. However, I do have good news to
report. Funding for the study of Hwy. 169 between Elk River and Princeton has
been identified, beginning in fiscal year 2006, which begins July 1, 2005.
Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT)
District 3 will be contacting the cities and county in the very near future to get things
rolling. The selection of a consultant will begin in July of this year. The District 3
contact person will be Craig Robinson, Project Development Engineer, and he can
be reached at 320-654-5539.

Mn/DOT is looking forward to working with the communities along this important
corridor to identify and address our long-term transportation needs. Again, I
apologize for the delay in responding as we were addressing our funding priorities.

Sincerely,

// ~
(dm-7)::}dJzeJ~

Carol Molnau
Lt.
