The priorities that the Commission recommends should
appeal to the broadest set of people with completed projects that the Commission has been working on
through the park-planning process.
Staff has been working with HKGi to complete s survey of park and trail project priorities. The survey
list includes the following: OKAC, DAAC,YAC, Hillside City Park,Woodland Trails Regional Park,
Orono Park,Bailey Point Nature Preserve,William H. Houlton Conservation Area, 18-neighborhood
parks, 12-open space undeveloped parks and various trail priorities. The trail priorities have been
presented to the Commission and City Council during the recent trail master planning process. The
survey will be used to tally individual Commissioners'priorities for a more comprehensive Commission
discussion to properly prepare in making project priority recommendations.
The City Council is looking for the Parks and Recreation Commission to provide them a list of trail and
park project priorities in time for the June 18 City Council Meeting. They intend to have a final decision
on parks and recreation facility priorities by July 1, 2018, to ensure the community can be fully educated
on their proposal for a potential voter referendum.
Financial Impact
N/A
Attachments
• None
P I IEREI 11
NATURE
