<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Special ~~eeting <br />of the Board of Review held in the <br />City Office Building <br /> <br />May 23, 1977 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Elk River City Council met as the Board of Review at 7:00 p.m. May 23, 1977. <br />Members present Mayor Lundberg, Councilmembers Konop, Toth, Syring and otto. County <br />Assessor Ty Bishop and Glenn Powell were also in attendance. <br /> <br />Mayor Lundberg called the meeting of the Board of Review to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Leroy Eastman-732 Vernon Ave.-met with the board requesting an explanation of his assessed <br />valuation as he stated that his last years value was $24,700.00 and he moved the house <br />onto another lot, 2 blocks away and his valuation increased $10,000.00 in a one year <br />period. The board tabled this matter until the assesser makes a re-assesssment and the <br />results to be presented to the Council at it's June ,6, 1977 I'egu.lar meeting. <br /> <br />Clarence Cook-429 Line Ave.- met with the Board requesting an explanami~n of his tax <br />statement. It was noted that the increase was due to the special street assessment that <br />were added this year and were not on last years. No action was required. <br /> <br />Leo F. Carey-1175 5th St.-met with the Board regarding the assessed market value of this <br />preoperty. He feels that since he is a senior citizen that his property should he valued <br />on a average figure taken over a 9 year period rather than as presently done. No action <br />was taken as the board felt it was a fair market value. <br /> <br />Earl Hetrick met with the board regarding his market valuation after reviewing it was noted <br />that his ualuation had dropped $20.00 he also asked why he was being assessed for the <br />treatment plant since he has no use for it as he has his NWn system. The board stated <br />that is was a general ubligation bond assessment to all property owner of the city. He <br />also stated that he fEH t that the noice from the highway would devalue his property. City <br />Clerk was instructed to contact Chief of Police Zerwas to see if something couldn't be <br />done to eliminate the dirt bike and snowmoblie traffic on private property in the Elk Hills <br />area. No other action was required by the board. <br /> <br />Moved by Board member Syring and seconded by Board member Otto approving the assessments <br />rolls as prezented by County Assessor Ty Bishop but excluding the Leroy Eastman property <br />until it can be re-assessed. Motion unaminounly carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />No further business the meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />
