Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Mike Tietz—Technical Services Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> May 8, 2018 6.l d <br /> SUBJECT: _ <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • In April, The locating department had a total of 278 locate tickets consisting of one <br /> emergency ticket, 7 cancellations, 8 meetings, 235 normal tickets and 24 updated tickets. <br /> This is a 126% increase in volume of tickets from the previous month. The locators <br /> continue to gather GPS points as time allows. <br /> • Electric Technicians continue with updating power bill, substation checks, disconnects, <br /> reconnects, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as installing new meters for <br /> commercial customers. <br /> • The weekly meter reads continue to go well. Staff continues to perform meter audits <br /> around the system as time allows. <br /> • On April 27, staff ran Engines 1, 2 & 3. Engine#4 was not run based on <br /> recommendations from outside expert opinions pertaining to the deterioration of the <br /> counterweight locknuts on cylinders 6 &7. We are working on getting the specifications <br /> together for the replacement locknuts. <br /> • Mapping department continues to enter GPS points and attribute points for all of our <br /> systems assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system.
