/ Item: 8.2 <br /> Elk .....„ <br /> Memorandum <br /> River <br /> To: Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> From: Tim Sevcik,Public Works Superintendent <br /> Date: May 4,2018 <br /> Subject: Staff Report <br /> Athletic Field Update <br /> Parks Maintenance Division staff completed preparation of the athletic fields in time for the Ice Breaker <br /> Tournament. Between last fall and this short spring staff removed the benches and concrete slabs from <br /> the old dugouts,rebuilt the infield playing surfaces at YAC and OKAC,reconstructed the pitching <br /> mount on OKAC Field 1,conducted fence repairs,infield lip removal,removed and realigned base <br /> anchors on all fields,installed new benches for the dugouts on YAC 5 and 6 and OKAC 1 and 2, and <br /> conducted extensive clean-up of the grounds. <br /> The contractors for the dugout project completed all work on Friday,May 4th,just in time for the <br /> dugouts to be used for the Ice Breaker Tournament. <br /> Staff completed striping of the lacrosse fields at OKAC 1 and 2 and the soccer field at YAC, over the <br /> weekend there will be 14 lacrosse games played at OKAC and one soccer game at YAC. <br /> The OKAC lighting project continues to move along. Installation of the new light poles is complete <br /> and conduit has been installed for the lights and new scoreboard. Kilmer Electric will be back the week <br /> of May 14th to complete wiring of the lights and conduct training. <br /> The DAAC and OKAC scoreboards are all on order with installation expected at OKAC Field 4 <br /> sometime in May and the DAAC 1-4 scoreboards in mid-June. <br /> Staff is working with ERMU and a vendor to on the installation of the light poles for the Lions John <br /> Weicht Park basketball courts.
