We received <br /> 23 applications and offered interviews to seven candidates. Following second interviews with two <br /> excellent candidates,we were very pleased with the recommended candidate for this position. <br /> Park Maintenance Worker Position <br /> Our new Park Maintenance Worker Tom Posser started working for us on Monday,April 30. <br /> Pinewood Golf Course <br /> Pinewood Golf Course opened for the season on Thursday,April 26.You might see a few familiar <br /> faces at the course this year. Some previously worked at Pinewood when the city was operating the <br /> course. This is the second year of the two-year contract with Elk River Golf Club to operate the <br /> course. <br /> Elk River Fest <br /> Progress continues to be made on the planning for Elk River Fest on July 7. Staff continues to <br /> market the event on Facebook and other social media. First National Bank has agreed to sponsor <br /> the entertainment at the event. The main entertainment is a Buddy Holly tribute band The Night the <br /> Music Lived. <br /> Highway 169 project <br /> The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced on May 1,2018 a total of$417 million to <br /> four projects as part of the Corridors of Commerce program,including one to convert Highway 169 <br /> in Elk River into a freeway. The Elk River project costing up to $157 will construct new <br /> interchanges along the highway.
