Ach, City Planner.,, DATE: April 6, 1995 SUBJECT: Agenda Items The next Steering Committee meeting will involve continued discussion regarding the transportation plan and specifically, the east/west roadway. The City Engineer, Terry Maurer, will once again be in attendance to provide the Committee and residents in attendance with a presentation of the transportation plan, with special attention to the proposed east/west route. Unfortunately, the City Engineer was out of the office most of last week, therefore, was unable to have his presentation available for distribution along with this memo. However, a packet will be handed out at Thursday's meeting and will cover a majority of the information discussed at the • previous Steering Committee meeting. To give the Steering Committee members an idea of Thursday's presentation, it is my understanding the City Engineer will be making a 20 to 30 minute presentation. • Does the City need an east/west roadway ? • How does this roadway tie into Anoka and Sherburne County's transportation plans? • What is the purpose of this roadway? • What are some of the criteria for choosing its location? • Possible timing (scheduling) of developing such a roadway. All Steering Committee members are encouraged to bring their copy of the draft transportation plan to Thursday night's meeting. If you do not have a copy, please contact me at 441-4902 as early as possible and a copy will be made available. During the past week I have received a number of phone calls from residents with questions regarding the east/west roadway.
