Elk River <br /> Municipal UtilitieS UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Troy Adams, P.E.—General Manager <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> April 10, 2018 6.1a <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • The Board of Directors of the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA)met on <br /> March 27, 2018 at the offices of Shakopee Public Utilities in Shakopee, Minnesota. I was <br /> not able to attend; Commissioner Al Nadeau did attend. <br /> The Board approved an updated Distributed Generation tariff to be implemented by <br /> MMPA members' governing bodies. <br /> Participation in MMPA's residential Clean Energy Choice program increased over <br /> February, with seven different MMPA members having new customer signups during the <br /> month. Customer penetration of MMPA's Clean Energy Choice program for residential <br /> customers is at 2.6%, with a range of market penetration by member of 1.5%to 5.6%. <br /> The Board approved Clover Ridge Elementary School in Chaska as a Hometown Solar <br /> Grant recipient. <br /> The Board discussed the status of renewable projects that the Agency is pursuing. <br /> • Our Power Provider Migration Plan is one of our highest priority initiatives and there is a <br /> firm deadline of October 1, 2018. As noted last month, there were load and generation <br /> node transfers submitted by the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) <br /> March 15 deadline. These transfers were successfully submitted and MISO is in the <br /> process of reviewing the request. ERMU, Great River Energy (GRE), and MMPA have <br /> another conference call regarding these action items on Monday May 7. <br /> • On March 19, I held a quarterly meeting with Greg Ridderbusch, Connexus <br /> CEO/President. We had discussed GRE, CIP, new technologies, legislative advocacy, <br /> and industry trends. As always, our quarterly meetings produce great discussion and <br /> bring to light opportunities. <br /> • The MMUA Legislative Conference is scheduled for April 11 — 12.
