CHAIR <br /> River FROM: PATRICK KLAERS, CIT ' 90 N .TRATOR <br /> DATE: JULY 19 , 1993 <br /> SUBJECT: 1994 BUDGET <br /> The 1994 General Fund Budget must be certified to the County by <br /> September 15, 1993 . In this regard, staff will be formulating <br /> its budget projections in July and early August and will be <br /> holding budget worksessions with the City Council in later <br /> August. The General Fund budget has typically included a <br /> Planning Commission Department budget. In 1994 , this Planning <br /> Commission Department Budget will be combined with the staff <br /> planning budget. <br /> The Planning Commission budget typically provides finances for <br /> Planning Commission members to attend a national conference, <br /> state and local workshops/conferences and to obtain any <br /> appropriate training materials plus paying for dues or <br /> subscriptions . Traditionally, the national conference ends up <br /> getting deleted and national conference attendance by Planning <br /> Commission members ends up being financed through the City <br /> Council Contingency fund. This request starts off in the <br /> Planning Commission budget, but is typically deleted as we <br /> attempt to balance proposed revenues with expenditures . <br /> However, generally speaking, Planning Commission members have <br /> always been allowed to attend a national conference. <br /> When taking into consideration the budget time frame, it is <br /> appropriate that the Commission reviews proposed 1994 <br /> expenditures during its July Commission meeting.
