JUNE 18. 1987 <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel. Councilmembers Dobel. Schuldt. and Tralle <br /> <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmgren <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br /> <br />Ty Bischoff. County Assessor and Jerry Kritzeck. Deputy <br />Appraiser <br /> <br />The meeting of the Board of Review was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor <br />Gunkel. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Robert Nelson - 20620 Concord Street <br /> <br />Ty Bischoff explained that this appeal is a continuation from the May 21. <br />1987. Board of Review meeting at which there were some questions on a <br />raquetball court at the Nelson residence which is not yet complete. Jerry <br />Kritzeck indicated that he and John Cullen. Assessor. had gone to the <br />Nelson residence again and went through the raquetball court. At this <br />time Mr. Nelson supplied the assessors with cost statements for labor and <br />materials. Jerry explained that a partition of the house consisting of <br />820 square feet of lesser finish had been reduced from $37.19 per square <br />foot to $25.00 per square foot. The raquetball court is being valued at <br />$21.00 per square foot. <br /> <br />The Nelson residence was originally valued at $176.200 and the Assessor <br />proposed a reduction to $168.700. Mr. Nelson questioned the reduction due <br />to the incomplete raquetball court from $26.34 per square foot for 820 <br />square feet. a total of $4.378.80. <br /> <br />There was a discussion on the total square footage which differed with Mr. <br />Nelson and the Assessor. Jerry Kritzeck and Mr. Nelson took their figures <br />into another room to settle the difference while the Board of Review <br />continued their meeting. <br /> <br />2. George Adamski - 14334 NE 96th Street <br /> <br />George Adamski was present to discuss Lot 6. Auditors #3. with exceptions <br />which is an Industrial Lot where Mr. Adamski has a molding business for <br />plastics and die cast. His complaint was the increase in taxes and his <br />feelings of a value decrease because of what the City is doing. <br /> <br />Mr. Adamski stated that his employees have a very difficult time getting <br />in and out of the business due to the backup of traffic at the stoplight <br />on Proctor and Highway 10. <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel questioned whether or not Mr. Adamski had discussed the <br />problem with either the City Street Department or the Police Department. <br />Gunkel stated that this problem would be addressed to staff. <br />
