<br />e <br /> <br />MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER PUBLIC LIBRARY <br />MONDAY. JANUARY 9. 1989 <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Gunkel. Councilmembers Tralle. Holmgren. Schuldt. <br />and Dobel. and Councilmember Elect Kropuenske <br /> <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: None <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: <br /> <br />City Administrator. Pat Klaers; Richard Fursman. Economic <br />Development Coordinator; Lori Johnson. Finance Director; <br />Russ Anderson. Fire Chief <br /> <br />1. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof. the meeting of the Elk River <br />City Council was called to order by Mayor Gunkel at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />At this time. Mayor elect Jim Tralle was issued the oath of office. <br />Mayor Gunkel turned the gavel over to Mayor Tralle. Councilmember elect <br />Duane Kropuenske and Councilmember Schuldt were also issued the oath of <br />office. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle read a resolution which was presented to Estelle Gunkel. <br />The resolution recognized Estelle's services to the City of Elk River. <br />Mayor Tralle also presented Estelle with a key to the City and a plaque <br />of appreciation for her dedicated service to the City of Elk River. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 89-1. A RESOLUTION <br />RECOGNIZING THE SERVICES OF ESTELLE GUNKEL AS MAYOR THE THE CITY OF ELK <br />RIVER. COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Consideration of 1/9/89 City Council Agenda <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 1/9/89 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA. <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />3. Consideration of 12/19/88 City Council Minutes <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE THE DECEMBER 19. 1989. CITY <br />COUNCIL MINUTES. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />4. Open Mike <br /> <br />4.1. Jaycees Ice Fishing Contest/Joe Zerwas <br /> <br />Joe Zerwas. representative of the Elk River Jaycees. requested the use of <br />Orono Lake for an ice fishing contest. He indicated that the Jaycees <br />have the necessary insurance. He further stated that he will do all the <br />plowing. including the plowing of the parking lot at Orono Beach. The <br />event will be held on January 29. 1989. <br /> <br />. <br />
