The Council consensus was to engage 292 Design Group to update <br />their previous arena concept plans with information received during the community engagement process <br />of the Community Center Task Force; to also engage JLG Architects for an updated plan for Lions Park <br />Center and Lion John Weicht Park; and to reach out to the Elk River YMCA to see if there was an <br />interest in a partnership for senior services. <br /> <br />On August 7, 2017, the City Council, by a 5-0 vote, directed staff to prepare a request for proposal for <br />architectural and engineering services. <br /> <br />On October 2, 2017, the Council adopted, by a 3-2 vote, an agreement for architectural services with 292 <br />Design Group. <br /> <br />On November 20, 2017, the Council approved, by a 5-0 vote, an agreement for construction manager <br />services with RJM Construction. <br /> <br />Council Member Wagner has indicated a desire for the City Council to reconsider a single, multi-purpose <br />recreation facility and to place it for consideration in an election referendum. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br /> <br />N/A <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />The Elk River Vision <br />A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional <br />service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity <br />
