Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Michelle Canterbury—Executive Administrative Assistant <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> January 9, 2018 2.4 <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Summary of General Manager Performance Evaluation <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Chair Dietz to provide a summary of the General Manager's performance evaluation <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On December 12, 2018,the Commission conducted a closed meeting for the second half of the <br /> performance evaluation of General Manager Troy Adams. The law requires that at its next open <br /> meeting,the Commission shall summarize its conclusions regarding the evaluation. Chair Dietz <br /> provided the following statement summarizing the Commission's conclusions regarding the <br /> evaluation. <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> Prior to the meeting, the Wage and Benefits Committee had performed a benchmarking analysis <br /> for the General Manager Position Pay Grade. A summary of the benchmarking report was <br /> provided for review. <br /> The Commission discussed Mr. Adams' performance and the general manager benchmarking <br /> results, and concluded that a market adjustment was warranted. <br /> After reconvening the regular meeting, the Commission unanimously approved by motion an <br /> additional 5%market adjustment for the General Manager position effective January 1, 2018; <br /> and an additional 5%market adjustment effective January 1, 2019,with a provision that the <br /> Commission benchmark the General Manager position again prior to enacting the January 1, <br /> 2019, market adjustment. <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 33 <br />
