Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Eric Volk—Water Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> December 12, 2017 6.1e <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • Delivered eight new water meters. <br /> • Sealed the water meter, and took curb stop ties from 23 water services. <br /> • Completed 25 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br /> o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria. <br /> o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH <br /> • Completed 20 routine fluoride samples <br /> o All samples met MDH standards. <br /> o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br /> • Submitted MPCA Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) for the Diesel Generation Plant <br /> • The water operators have been locating for the past few months in order to verify <br /> mapping discrepancies in the distribution system. Next spring the water operators will <br /> start on other portions of the system. <br /> • The water operators have started our annual routine of recharging the filters. WTP 6 and <br /> WTP 2 required an addition of media due to the expected loss over the year. The filter <br /> recharging will continue for the next few months on the rest of the filters. <br /> • The WTP 7 expansion has been completed. Final payment has been made. <br /> • The Minnesota Historical Society has approved the grant for the architectural drawings <br /> and plans for the Jackson Street Water Tower. I will continue to work with the City <br /> Planner on this project.
