Call Meetina To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the special meeting of the Elk River City <br />Council was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Duitsman. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Consider Aaenda <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE 4/21/94 CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br />3-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Review of Country Crossinas Preliminary Plat <br /> <br />This item was heard by the Council following #4.4. <br /> <br />4.1. Set public hearina date to consider a City Ordinance that chanaes the Mavor's <br />term of office from 2 vears to 4 vears <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman indicated that although he is in favor of a 4-year mayoral term, <br />he will not vote on the issue. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO SET MAY 23, 1994, AS THE PUBLIC HEARING <br />DATE TO CONSIDER THE LENGTH OF TERM FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR. <br />COUNCllMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 2-0-1. <br />MAYOR DUITSMAN ABSTAINED. <br /> <br />4.2. Call special City Council and Fire Department meetina and rescind 4/11 motion <br />callina for the 515 special meeting <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The City Administrator informed the Council that there was a conflict with the <br />meeting date of 515 for some of the firefighters, therefore, he requested that the <br />Council consider another date. It was the consensus of the Council to delay this <br />issue until the April 25, Council meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Farber arrived at this time (6:07 p.m.) <br />
