Item: 8.2 <br /> Elkdfr/ <br /> Memorandum <br /> River <br /> To: Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> From: Tim Sevcik,Park Superintendent <br /> Date: October 10, 2017 <br /> Subject: Staff Report <br /> Athletic Complexes <br /> Installation of the concrete slabs for the new dugouts at the Youth Athletic Complex and Oak Knoll is <br /> complete. The dugout kits are scheduled to arrive the week of October 16,2017 and installation of the <br /> dugout kits will begin the following week. The priority for installation of the kits is YAC to allow time <br /> for the concrete contractor to install the stone wall;however installation will be dependent on the <br /> weather and may need to be installed in the spring. <br /> Trail Projects <br /> All trail construction projects are complete for 2017. In addition to the planned trail projects, staff has <br /> been busy patching and repairing the existing trails. Numerous trail segments had small potholes, <br /> broken edges,and sunken areas as a result of gopher tunnels under the trails. <br /> Picnic Tables <br /> New picnic tables were purchased for the two smaller shelters at Orono Park. The new tables are <br /> square in shape and allow for better use of the space within the shelters. The existing tables were <br /> distributed to other parks throughout the city to replace the old homemade picnic tables which are no <br /> longer serviceable. <br /> Dave Anderson Athletic Complex Irrigation <br /> Installation of the new irrigation system at the Dave Anderson Athletic Complex will begin around <br /> October 23,2017.
