There were 18 display vehicles and over 17 test drives were given by
Cornerstone Automotive. We estimate that 95 individuals attended the event to drive and
learn about the newest transportation technology. This event was a huge success locally
and for the region. The event was attended by representatives from Great Plains Institute,
Drive Electric Minnesota, American Public Power Association, and Minnesota Municipal
Utilities Association.
• Staff is working with Connexus Energy and the Elk River YMCA on another smaller EV
event for clients of the YMCA. This is part of a regional effort that Connexus Energy is
implementing with other YMCA's in their service territory. The event will be October 25
from noon to 2:30 p.m. Cornerstone Automotive is going to be providing EV's for test
drives.
• Working with former Connexus residential customers to transition to ERMU programs.
Each customer is handled on a one-on-one basis as a result of legacy programs Connexus
customers are participating in. ERMU staff works with each customer to transition them
into a load management program that ERMU offers.
• Gearing up for the 6th Annual Light Up Your Neighborhood Contest. Flyers promoting
the event will be sent to out to ERMU electric customers with the October bills. The Star News will publish the participants in the newspaper on December
16 to allow residents the opportunity to go out and view the lights during the holiday
season.
• Met with the representatives from Iserlohn Germany. We discussed energy efficiency
renewable energy and customer choice. We had a great afternoon of touring the city and
discussing differences in providing electric service to retail customers. ERMU staff is
also researching new meters for installation at some city facilities to allow both cities to
compare energy use of similar buildings in 15 minute increments.
ATTACHMENT:
• Flyer-Light Up the Neighborhood Holiday Lighting Contest
Page 1 of 1
101
