Elk River .M <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Mike Tietz—Technical Services Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> October 10, 2017 6.1d <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • In September, The Locating department had a total of 454 locate tickets consisting of <br /> three emergency tickets, 15 cancellations, 13 meetings, 360 normal tickets and 57 <br /> updated tickets. This is a 6%decrease in volume of tickets from the previous month. <br /> • Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading,power bill, substation checks, <br /> hanging red-tags,meter read-outs, disconnects, reconnects, dealing with meter and off- <br /> peak issues, as well as delivering and installing new meters to commercial customers. <br /> • On September 19, Staff began changing out meters within Acquisition Areas 3 &4. The <br /> change out went smoothly and took three full days to change out 529 meters. Office staff, <br /> as well as mapping staff, assisted the metering department by accurately documenting the <br /> field data needed for the CIS database. <br /> • Staff was present for the energizing of Waco Bank#2 transformer and installed the new <br /> substation meter. <br /> • Staff continues to perform meter audits throughout the system. We are making plans and <br /> preparations for the upcoming transition to multiple billing cycles. Metering department <br /> will need to reprogram 500+meters over the next few months. <br /> • The power plant staff did the monthly engine run in the last week of September. All <br /> engines ran well with no problems. <br /> • Mapping department continues to enter GPS points and attribute points for all of our <br /> systems assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. <br /> • Attended the NISC Member Information Conference in St. Louis, MO September 25-28. <br /> Found many useful and informative sessions relating to engineering, operations& <br /> metering. I will be further investigating the iVue AppSuite over the course of the next <br /> year to see how we can benefit from all this product has to offer. <br /> Page l of 1 <br /> 95 <br />
