Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Mike Tietz - Technical Services Superintendent <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> August 8, 2017 6.I d <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • In July, The Locating department had a total of 423 locate tickets consisting of four <br /> emergency tickets, 12 cancellations, 8 meetings, 348 normal tickets and 45 updated <br /> tickets. This is a 29%decrease in volume of tickets from the previous month. <br /> • Electric Technicians continue with the meter reading,power bill, substation checks, <br /> hanging red-tags, meter read-outs, dealing with meter and off-peak issues, as well as <br /> delivering and installing new meters to commercial customers. Staff has been setting up <br /> testing procedures for recloser controls. Staff also continues with meter audits through <br /> the system. Meters for acquisition Areas 3 and 4 are expected to arrive around the end of <br /> August. <br /> • The power plant staff did the monthly engine run in the last week of July. All engines ran <br /> well with no problems. Westmor Fluid Solutions was brought in to replace a leaking fuel <br /> line on Engine 3 on July 20. <br /> • Mapping department continues to enter GPS points and attribute points for all of our <br /> systems assets within the ESRI ArcView GIS system. Staff reports that mapping of <br /> electric surface structures is about 75%complete. Transformers are about 45%complete <br /> and poles are around 40%complete. <br /> • Attended the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency(MMPA)Annual Meeting on July 25 <br /> at Canterbury Park in Shakopee. Had the opportunity to tour Shakopee Energy Park and <br /> learn about the 46 MW peaking plant and how it fits in with MMPA's power supply <br /> portfolio. <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 117 <br />
