<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING <br />TOWN OF ELK RIVER <br />March 13, 1923 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The annual town meeting was held at the Courthouse in the Village of Elk River. Meeting called to <br />order by the Clerk at 10:00 o’clock a.m. Fred Sacks was chosen Moderator and the reports of the <br />Board of Audit, Town Clerk and Treasurer were read and on motion allowed. <br /> <br />The following sums were voted to be raised by taxation for the coming year: <br /> <br />Town Revenue Fund $400.00 <br />Town Road & Bridge Fund $2000.00 <br />Ditch Fund $1866.71 <br /> <br />No levy was made for Poor Fund. <br /> <br />On motion it was voted to pay the Assessor $100.00 for assessing the personal property in the town <br />this year. <br /> <br />The polls were then opened and the following officers were elected by ballot. There were twenty- <br />nine ballots each. <br /> <br />B.A. Gray received 28 votes for Supervisor and was declared elected. <br />R.R. Simpson received 29 votes for Town Clerk and was declared elected. <br />E.G. Palmer received 28 votes for Town Treasurer and was declared elected. <br />Dale Felix received 25 votes for Assessor and was declared elected. <br />E.W. Dickey & Carl Engstrom each received 29 votes for Justice of the Peace and were declared <br />elected. <br /> <br />\[No note re: adjournment.\] <br /> <br />R.R.
