Unfortunately, the total amount of
funding applications far exceeded the available funds and our application was not approved.

Staff recently met with the representative board member of our GMRPTC region to better understand
the criteria for a more competitive grant application for FY19. We plan to apply for about $360,000 in
park improvements based on the park’s master plan and grant application criteria. The deadline to
submit this year is July 31, 2017.

Financial Impact
A matching grant amount of $100,000 will be offered as part of the grant application. This will assist in
the scoring criteria and is budgeted though city-designated funding sources ($25,000 park maintenance
budget for buckthorn, $25,000 PIF for picnic shelter, $50,000 GRE fund for wayfinding).

Attachments
 Resolution
