<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING <br />TOWN OF ELK RIVER <br />March 9, 1920 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The Annual Town Meeting, held in Town of Elk River, County of Sherburne, State of Minnesota, <br />was called to order by F.H. Putnam (Town Clerk), and Fred Sacks was then chosen to act as <br />Moderator. <br /> <br />Business on hand was as follows: <br />Election of one Supervisor for a term of three years to fill place of Chas. Schwanbeck, whose term <br />expires; one Town Clerk, one Treasurer, Justice of the Peace, and one Constable. <br /> <br />It was then, on motion, resolved that Assessor elected at this meeting receive a lump sum of one <br />hundred & fourty \[sic\] dollars. <br /> <br />Polls were then opened and election of officers proceded \[sic\]. <br /> <br />On motion, it was ordered, that the following sums of money be raised by tax upon taxable property <br />of said town for following purposes: <br /> <br />Road & Bridge \[Fund\]: $3000.00 <br />Revenue \[Fund\]: 400.00 <br /> <br />On motion, it was resolved, that Town Board be instructed to divide Township into three road <br />districts: <br /> <br />Meadowvale District No. I <br />Takes in all roads of Town of Elk River west of Eastern Minnesota <br />(or railroad running to Princeton from Elk River) and north of railroad <br />lines running to Big Lake. <br /> <br />Center District No. II <br />Takes in all roads in Town of Elk River south of railroads running to <br />Big Lake and also railroad running to Anoka, and also roads between <br />railroad running to Princeton and so-called Princeton & Elk River Road <br />or State Road No. II. <br /> <br />Burns Road District No. III <br />Takes in all roads of Town north of railroad running to Anoka and east <br />of Princeton and Elk River Road or State Road No. II. <br /> <br />Town Board was instructed to buy graders and scrapers. <br /> <br />Polls were then closed and ballots counted, which resulted in the election of: <br /> <br /> <br />
