Elk River
Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
TO: FROM:
ERMU Commission Tom Sagstetter—Conservation&Key Accounts Manager
MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER:
June 13, 2017 6.1f
SUBJECT:
Staff Update
ACTION REQUESTED:
None
DISCUSSION:
• Continuing to work with customers who have questions on changes to cycled air
conditioning monthly credits and the end date effective October 1, 2018. Customers with
multiple load management programs have also been calling about changes and end date
for dual fuel and storage programs. Staff has determined potential transition options for
all programs and is currently working on the feasibility of those options.
• Working to get the level two charging station installed in the HRA parking lot downtown.
The level two charger should be installed in the next few weeks.
• Staff has drafted a letter to send to the American Public Power Association (APPA)
requesting an extension on the DEED Grant for the Electric Vehicle Charging Program.
With the easement and right-of-way issues surrounding the property at Joplin and Hwy
10,the developer will not be in a position to market the property until fourth quarter
2017. Staff is asking for a 1 year extension (May 5, 2019) for the grant deliverables as
construction and relocation of utility infrastructure would not begin until 2018.
• Staff has been working with Prime Advertising& Design to come up with a fresh
innovative EV logo design to be used for marketing purposes. Funds have been allocated
from the DEED Grant to cover marketing costs that include: web design, promotional
items, bill inserts/brochures, and signage.
• Commercial rebate and new account activity is very high this month. Rebates processed
to customers will exceed $46,000. Year to date ERMU has provided customers with over
$171,000 in rebates.
98
