Commission Members and City Council are encouraged to participate in a ribbon cutting <br /> ceremony and unveiling of a permanent plaque Thursday,June 15 at 7:00 p.m. for the Rivers Edge <br /> Commons Park Re-opening. All City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission Members are <br /> encouraged to attend the event with their families from 6-8 p.m. Fun Free activities for the entire <br /> family are planned. The event will be held rain or shine. <br /> Woodland Trails Regional Park Potential Acquisition& Grant Application <br /> On June 5, 2017 the City Council discussed the property and acquisition recommended by the Parks <br /> and Recreation Commission. The Council unanimously decided not to pursue the acquisition. At <br /> this time, the city does not have funding available for acquisition. Staff is beginning to pursue a <br /> grant through the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission for identified park <br /> improvements. These improvements will be presented to the Commission on July 12. We found <br /> out last week that the grant applications are due by July 31,2017. <br /> Sherburne County Park,Trail and Active Living Meeting <br /> The next Park,Trail and Active living Committee Meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, <br /> June 22,2017 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Sherburne County Government Center.
