With <br />this adoption, chapter 1340 was the code to adopt for the accessibility code for the State <br />of Minnesota. This code was a very difficult code being it entailed three separate codes <br />for compliance to the handicap code. At the time of code adoption, the rules were <br />undergoing revisions by the division of the accessibility code advisory committee and <br />were not complete at the time of adoption which is the reason for this amendment to <br />chapter 1000. Staff is requesting a revision to chapter 1000 to take out chapter 1340 and <br />add chapter 1341. With this revision it will assist us in the enforcement process of the <br />accessibility code for all new and existing buildings. <br /> <br />Therefore, at this time staff is requesting that chapter 1340 be eliminated and replaced by <br />chapter 1341 as the new Minnesota Accessibility Code for the City of Elk River. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />f: \shrdoc\b&z\clift\codecs .doc <br /> <br />13065 Orono Parkway.
