Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.3 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent June 5, 2017 Lauren Wipper, Human Resource Representative <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Hire Senior Administrative Assistant Ron Nierenhausen, Police Chief <br />Bob Kluntz, Captain <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the hiring of Lindsay Brandner for the position of Senior Administrative Assistant <br />for the city’s Police Department effective June 12, 2017. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />Following the resignation of Amy Humphrey, we went to market to fill our Senior Administrative <br />Assistant position for the police department. We received 101 applications and interviewed 25 <br />candidates. Following additional interviews, background and pre-employment testing, Lindsay Brandner <br />is recommended for the position. <br /> <br />Ms. Brandner has been working in an office support position at Karner Blue Education Center for the <br />past two years. Prior to that, she worked in a similar position at Sibley Elementary and as an Account <br />Representative at Freightmasters. Ms. Brandner holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration. <br /> <br />Ms. Brandner will start at step A of pay grade 6 and will be eligible for a step increase after a successful <br />orientation period. All pay and benefits will be consistent with city policy. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />This is a budgeted position. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br />
