KIaers, City t!#mstrator <br />May 17, 1999 <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Boys and Girls Club Update <br /> <br />Councilmember Thompson is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Elk <br />River Boys and Girls Club. Councilmember Motin is also on the Board of <br />Directors. The Board of Directors met on Thursday, May 13,1999. The Lions <br />Club is working with this organization for the construction of a facility in the <br />city-owned Lions Park. The Boys and Girls Club is moving forward with its <br />fundraising efforts for this project and the building is underway. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Executive Director John Fitzgerald was before the Park and Recreation <br />Commission at their last meeting to discuss signage for the Boys and Girls <br />Club. Additionally, the city is considering moving its Lions Park sign closer <br />to the entrance off of Jackson Avenue. A cost analysis for moving the city <br />sign and a review of both signage designs are currently taking place. <br /> <br />Councilmember Thompson and/or Motin should be able to provide everyone <br />with an update on the status of this project at this May 17, 1999, City <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
