<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING <br />TOWN OF ELK RIVER <br />March 14, 1916 <br /> <br /> <br />Annual Town Meeting was held in Sheriff’s office at the Courthouse, Village of Elk River. <br /> <br />Judges of Election: W.A. Frye <br /> P.H. McNabb <br /> Frank Denser <br /> <br />Clerks of Election: F.W. Nickerson <br /> E.W. Bernard <br /> <br />Moderator: Fred Sacks <br /> <br />Polls declared open at 9 o’clock A.M. <br /> <br />At 2 o’clock P.M. business meeting was held, Fred Sacks presiding as Moderator. <br />Report of E.G. Palmer, Town Treasurer, read and on motion approved. <br />Report of F.W. Nickerson, Town Clerk, read and approved. <br /> <br />On motions the following sums were voted to be raised for the various funds for 1916: <br /> <br />Road & Bridge Fund $2000.00 <br />Revenue Fund 300.00 <br />Poor Fund 300.00 <br /> <br />On motion the Town Board was instructed to take necessary measures to get the assessments <br />against the Town for benefits on acc’t of Judicial Detch. #1 reduced and if necessary make an <br />appeal. <br /> <br />No further business appearing, business meeting was closed and the polls were declared opened. <br /> <br />At 9 o’clock P.M. polls were declared closed and votes were counted by the Judges. <br /> <br />Full number of votes cast ninety-seven (97). <br />J.E. Bloomdahl receiving 61 votes was declared elected Supervisor for 3 years. <br />Harry Hall receiving 64 votes for Town Clerk was declared elected for 1 year. <br />E.G. Palmer receiving 85 votes was declared elected Treasurer for 1 year. <br />E.W. Dickey receiving 25 votes for Justice of the Peace was declared elected for 1 year. <br />Carl Engstrom receiving 1 votes was declared elected for one year as Constable. <br /> <br />F.W.
