<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 24, 1906 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />At a meeting of the Common Council held at the furniture store of R.E. Dare, the following-named <br />members were present: <br /> <br />Present: R.E. Dare, President; S.M. Crockett, Justus de Booy, and W.P. Rhoda, Trustees; <br />H.C. Hastings, Village Recorder. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the President when the minutes of the last meeting were read by <br />the Recorder. <br /> <br />The auditors’ report of the last year’s business of the Common Council was read by the Recorder. <br /> <br />On motion the following bills were allowed: <br /> <br />Prosper Vassar, work on street, $1.50 <br />Justus de Booy, cash paid out, $1.65 <br />Heebner Mercantile Co., gasoline, $.85 <br /> <br />On motion of Justus de Booy and seconded by W.P. Rhoda, the salary of the Recorder was fixed for <br />the ensuing year at $35.00 by a vote of the Council. <br /> <br />The President appointed Justus de Booy and S.M. Crockett Standing Committee on the New Bridge <br />and H.C. Hastings and W.P. Rhoda Standing Committee on Sidewalk, Streets and Street Lamps. <br /> <br />The President appointed Justus de Booy Chief of Fire Department. <br /> <br />On motion it was voted to adjourn this and subsequent meetings of the Council to meet at the call <br />of the President. <br /> <br />Attest: H.C.
